Netflix Begins Production on Final Stranger Things Season

Netflix has officially begun production on the fifth and final season of its global hit from the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things.

The series originally debuted in 2016 and has won over 70 awards worldwide, including four Emmys for outstanding drama series. The fifth season will carry on the storyline of season four and unveil more about the Upside Down realm before bringing the drama to its close.

The main cast is set to return, including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke and more. Linda Hamilton (The TerminatorChildren of the CornChuck) was previously announced as a new cast member.

Though this marks the last season of the series, there are additional projects in the universe in the works, including an untitled animated spin-off series and Stranger Things: The First Shadow, a live stage play. The latter officially opened in London’s West End in December 2023.
