The next original series from Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) is the drama Box 21, which is based on the best-selling crime novel by Swedish writers Anders Roslund and Börge Hellström.

Box 21 is produced by Miso Film and will premiere across the Nordic region in 2020 exclusively on NENT Group’s Viaplay streaming service. The story follows two young women seeking revenge on the men who lured them from Eastern Europe to Sweden with false promises of a better life. Meanwhile, a mysterious figure takes hostages in a Stockholm hospital morgue.

Jakob Mejlhede Andersen, Viaplay’s chief content officer, said: “Opening Box 21 will be a unique experience for Viaplay viewers. This highly ambitious series will reflect the unflinching realism, moral complexity and engrossing storylines that have established Roslund and Hellström as some of the most acclaimed crime novelists in the Nordic region and beyond. Our customers can look forward to three additional original series inspired by these talented authors, as NENT Group continues to reimagine the future of Nordic storytelling.”

Box 21 is the first of four NENT Group original shows to be based on the novels of crime-writing duo Roslund and Hellström.
