The next original production from Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) is lined up to be the Swedish medical drama series First Responders, its first in the genre.

Filmed in the scenic Swedish mountain village of Åre, the ten-part series will premiere exclusively on NENT Group’s Viaplay streaming service across the Nordic region in 2020. It follows the daily lives of hospital, police and rescue personnel in the beautiful yet sometimes hazardous Swedish mountains.

The ensemble cast features Göran Gillinger (Maria Wern), Karin Bengtsson (The Modern Project), Mårten Svedberg (the Johan Falk series), Nadja Halid (Senses) and Tiril Wishman Eeg-Henriksen.

Jakob Mejlhede Andersen, Viaplay’s chief content officer, said: “Our first medical drama brings a uniquely Scandinavian twist to a hugely popular genre, thanks to a compelling lineup of Swedish talents, intriguing personal stories and stunning scenery that will raise the pulse of viewers across the Nordic region. Streaming is now mainstream, and as the Nordic region’s leading streaming company, NENT Group continues to broaden our offering to reach every audience.”
