NBC to Adapt Spanish Romantic Dramedy Little Coincidences

NBC has given a green light to the single-camera project Someone Out There, which will be an adaptation of Little Coincidences (Pequeñas Coincidencias).

The original Spanish rom-com Little Coincidences is co-produced by Onza Entertainment, Atresmedia Studios and Medio Limón. Season two is available on Amazon Prime Video in several countries. For the U.S. adaptation, Dylan Morgan (The Good Place), Emiliano Calemzuk, Gonzalo Sagardía and Javier Veiga, who created the original, are attached as executive producers.

The story follows a woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s who are both living a somewhat hedonistic lifestyle, but their lives constantly intertwine. Before finding each other—if they do—they will need a few little coincidences.

Gonzalo Sargadia, Onza’s entertainment executive producer, said: “We are really glad that NBC has decided to adapt Little Coincidences for the U.S. market. We believe that this is a format that has great international options and has a widely universal concept that is the search for love and the parenthood instinct.”
