Movistar Plus+ International Sells La Mesías to HBO LatAm

Movistar Plus+ International has launched La Mesías at MIPCOM, securing a deal for the drama with HBO in Latin America.

Part of the official selection of the San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF) and made in collaboration with Suma Content, the 7×60-minute La Mesías tells the story of a mother who raises her daughters to save the world.

Also in the official selection at SSIFF, Movistar Plus+ International is presenting The Other Side, a six-episode series that unites horror and comedy. Galgos and Marbella are also among the distributor’s slate.

New Movistar Plus+ nonfiction originals will also be presented at the market. Titles include Bisbal and Bosé Reborn, along with the true-crime production Light in the Darkness with Carles Porta.

Movistar Plus+ is also developing original fiction, set to arrive on the platform in the near future. Titles include Querer, the first series by award-winning director Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, and Segunda Muerte, directed by Álex Rodrigo (The Pier, Money Heist) and Óscar Pedraza (Patria, Sky Rojo).
