MIPTV Spotlight: Sonar Entertainment

Inspired by the film and novel of the same name, Das Boot, on offer from Sonar Entertainment, stars Lizzy Caplan, Vicky Krieps, Vincent Kartheiser, Tom Wlaschiha and Rick Okon.

David Ellender, the president of global distribution and co-productions at Sonar Entertainment, calls the scripted co-production a “tentpole property for Bavaria Fiction, Sky and Sonar. It is also a textbook example of how three partners from different parts of the world can come together to create a dynamic, theatrical-style production with top talent that will appeal to audiences across the globe. Sonar places a premium on finding stories and creative talent that are not confined by borders.”

Pierce Brosnan stars in The Son, which is in production on its second season and has been sold across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and other territories.

Sonar’s slate also features Taboo, co-created and executive produced by Tom Hardy, who also stars in the series.
