Lifetime Preps Sea Change Pilot

LOS ANGELES: Lifetime, MarVista Entertainment and Pillar/Segan have begun production on the pilot Sea Change (working title), based on New York Times best-selling author Aimee Freidman’s YA novel of the same name.

The drama follows 17-year-old Miranda Merchant on her journey to reunite with her estranged mother, who lives on a seemingly idyllic island off the coast of New England. After moving in with her mom, Miranda soon finds herself caught between the town’s residents and the island’s mysterious legend of dangerous Seawalkers. It will film in Nova Scotia through August.

Sea Change stars newcomer Emily Rudd, Skyler Maxon (Awkward), Keenan Tracey (Bates Motel) and Maria Dizza (Orange Is the New Black). Chris Grismer (The Originals) is executive producing and directing the pilot script, written by Liz Sczudlo (The Following). It is executive produced by Fernando Szew (The Swap), Lloyd Segan (Greek), Shawn Piller (Greek), Sharon Bordas (A Deadly Adoption), David MacLeod (Haven) and Adam Fratto (Cleverman).
