LOS ANGELES: The AMC Studios series Into the Badlands starring Daniel Wu has been licensed by Entertainment One (eOne) to LeTV in China.

The show, loosely based on Journey to the West, will roll out on the Chinese platform in early 2016.

"Into the Badlands is truly an epic series that has been extremely well-received internationally having been sold in nearly 200 countries within weeks of its U.S. launch, which is a testament to the quality of this ambitious show," said Ben Bishop, sales director for Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, eOne Films Australia and Television International. "We're delighted to partner with LeTV, one of the largest online platforms in China, to bring this blockbuster series to the Chinese audience."

Tegan Shi, sales director at eOne Television International, brokered the deal.

AMC Global is taking the show to 125 countries across the globe. eOne also licensed the show to Foxtel in Australia, SoHo in New Zealand and CMore in Scandinavia.
