Apple has given a straight-to-series order to a limited series from Jennifer Garner and J.J. Abrams, who worked together on Alias.

Apple is going straight to series with My Glory Was I Had Such Friends, a one-hour limited drama starring and executive produced by Garner (Alias, Dallas Buyers Club, Juno). Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek, Lost, Alias) also serves as executive producer.

Based on the 2017 memoir of the same name by Amy Silverstein, My Glory Was I Had Such Friends focuses on the power of friendship and the resilience of the human spirit. It follows a group of women who supported Silverstein as she waited for a second life-saving heart transplant.

Produced by Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television, the series is written and executive produced by Karen Croner (The Tribes of Palos VerdesOne True Thing, Admission) and executive produced by Bad Robot’s Ben Stephenson (Westworld) and Silverstein.
