HBO Orders More Succession

HBO has renewed its hit drama series Succession for a fourth season, following the premiere of season three earlier this month.

Created by Jesse Armstrong, Succession explores the themes of power and family dynamics through the eyes of Logan Roy, patriarch of the Roy family. Its second season won seven Emmy Awards, and its third season premiere drew over 1.4 million viewers across all platforms, making it the best premiere night for an HBO original series since the launch of HBO Max.

The third season, which sees new episodes debut every Sunday, follows as tensions rise amid a corporate battle that threatens to turn into a family civil war, with the Roy family navigating the question of who will take over the family’s company in a post-Logan world.

Armstrong serves as showrunner as well as executive producer, alongside Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy and Will Ferrell.

“With each season of Succession, Jesse Armstrong has continued to surpass our wildest expectations, pulling us deeper into the Roy family’s inner sanctum with indelible wit, humanity, and precision,” said Francesca Orsi, executive VP of HBO programming. “This season is undoubtedly no exception, and we couldn’t be more excited for all that’s in store in this next season ahead.”
