APC Studios has secured the first presales for its brand-new series Wolf, commissioned by the BBC.

HBO Max EMEA has pre-acquired rights to the series for a selection of territories that includes Iberia, the Nordics, Central and Eastern Europe, among others. Australian public broadcaster SBS picked up first-run rights for Australia. Ukweli Roach (The Midwich Cuckoos, Blindspot, Humans) has been cast in the lead role of DI Jack Caffery, a young man searching for himself.

Based on Mo Hayder’s Jack Caffery series of novels, the new six-part crime thriller is an APC Studios-originated co-production with Hartswood Films with the support of Creative Wales for BBC One, BBC Wales and BBC iPlayer. It was written and adapted by Megan Gallagher (Borderliner, Suspicion).

Laurent Boissel, executive producer for APC Studios, which is international distributor as well as co-producer on the series, said: “We are excited to be partnering with Elaine Cameron and the great teams at Hartswood on this thrilling new BBC drama series in what is a major move for APC in the U.K. Working with such talent both on- and off-screen and bringing strong partners like HBO Max EMEA and SBS on board will enable global audiences to enjoy Megan’s brilliant adaptation of Mo’s fabulous books.”
