Hannah Waddingham Joins Masterpiece & ITV’s Tom Jones

The Masterpiece and ITV literary adaptation Tom Jones has added to its cast the Emmy Award-winning actress Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso, Game of Thrones).

Waddingham has been cast as the seductive and vengeful Lady Bellaston in Tom Jones. Solly McLeod (The Rising) is playing Tom, alongside Sophie Wilde (You Don’t Know Me) as Sophia Western and Pearl Mackie (Doctor Who) as Sophia’s trusted maid, Honour.

Written by Gwyneth Hughes and produced by Mammoth Screen, the miniseries is an adaptation of The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling, based on Henry Fielding’s classic novel.

Also in the cast are James Fleet (Bridgerton), Alun Armstrong (Breeders), Shirley Henderson (Happy Valley), Tamzin Merchant (Carnival Row), Julian Rhind-Tutt (Britannia), Susannah Fielding (This Time with Alan Partridge), Daniel Rigby (Black Mirror), James Wilbraham (In My Skin), Felicity Montagu (The Durrells), Janine Duvitski (Benidorm), Dean Lennox Kelly (Jamestown) and Lucy Fallon (Coronation Street).

Tom Jones is a co-production of Mammoth Screen and Masterpiece in association with ITV Studios. It is directed by Georgia Parris (Mari) and produced by Benjamin Greenacre.
