Goalpost Pictures, the Australian producer behind such projects as New Gold Mountain and Cleverman, has tapped Polly Rowe as development producer.

Rowe has been literary manager at the Sydney Theatre Company (STC) since 2007, developing works with major writers and identifying important new stories from emerging talent. At the STC, she commissioned hits such as Black is the New White by Nakkiah Lui, Switzerland by Joanna Murray-Smith and The Harp in the South, adapted by Kate Mulvany from Ruth Park’s novel.

Goalpost Pictures’ partners, Rosemary Blight and Kylie du Fresne, said: “Polly has an exceptional eye for identifying and developing writers and scripts, strong relationships across the creative industries and she has a superb track record for success. We are thrilled to have her join Goalpost Pictures at what is an incredibly busy time for the company as we build our slate of television and film projects for Australian and international audiences.”

Rowe said: “It is an honor to be joining Goalpost Pictures, a company with impressive credits and a big cultural footprint. I look forward to joining the team and working with the wonderful writers on their slate, bringing exciting new stories to the screen.”
