Global Screen Secures Sales for Rivals Forever: The Sneaker Battle

MUNICH: Global Screen has inked its first deals for the family-saga miniseries Rivals Forever: The Sneaker Battle, inspired by the true story behind the Adidas and Puma brands.

The company has signed deals for the 4×45-minute event miniseries in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. Rivals Forever: The Sneaker Battle tells the story of two brothers living in 1920s Germany whose longstanding differences lead to profound mistrust, and eventually to the creation of two future multinational corporations, Adidas and Puma. Rivals Forever: The Sneaker Battle is set for a prime-time premiere on ARD in 2016.

Rivals Forever: The Sneaker Battle tells one of the greatest success stories of German industry,” said Alexandra Heidrich, the head of TV sales at Global Screen. “At the same time, it also is a gripping and dramatic family saga, full of love, friendship, mistrust and intrigue.”

The miniseries will continue to shoot until the beginning of December. It is directed by Cyrill Boss and Philipp Stennert and produced by Wiedemann & Berg Television.
