LOS ANGELES: Propagate Content, led by co-CEOs Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens, and Gale Anne Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment are teaming up to develop a horror anthology based on the hit podcast Lore.

Lore is an anthology series that explores the true origins of pop culture’s most legendary horror characters and myths such as vampires, zombies, werewolves, ghosts, serial killers and witches—all rooted in facts. These tales are brought to life through eyewitness accounts, documented stories and historical events. The show will continue the tradition of the podcast upon which it is based.

Produced by Propagate Content and Valhalla Entertainment, Lore will be executive produced by Hurd, Silverman, Owens, Brett-Patrick Jenkins and Aaron Mahnke, who is also the author of such supernatural thrillers as Indian Summer, Consumed and Grave Suspicion.

Propagate’s head of development, Brett-Patrick Jenkins, said, “Serial inadvertently created a completely new playground for storytelling and intellectual property. Aaron Mahnke is the Stephen King of podcasting.”

Silverman and Owens said, “In genre television and movies, Gale Anne Hurd has created some of the most successful and innovative franchises of all time. We believe, along with a built-in audience, Lore has an incredibly unique, haunting voice that resonates beyond the simple and captivating storytelling genius that is the podcast.”

“I’m excited to partner with Propagate on this truly thrilling and disturbing project,” said Hurd. “Lore is the real stuff that should keep you up at night.”
