LONDON: Sara Johnson has been appointed as Fox Networks Group’s (FNG) first VP of scripted drama for Europe and Africa as the company looks to boost its regional originals output.

Johnson is tasked with forming a development and production slate for FOX in Europe and Africa. Based in London, she reports to Jeff Ford, senior VP of content development for Europe and Africa and managing director of FNG U.K. She will also collaborate with Sharon Tal Yguado, FNG’s executive VP of scripted programming and original content, and the global programming team in Los Angeles.

Johnson joins FNG from Keshet U.K., where she was executive producer and head of scripted co-production. She was previously development head at La Plante Productions.

“We’ve had tremendous success with our global FOX content, which is synonymous with bold, creative and innovative programming,” Ford said. “Bringing Sara to the company reinforces our commitment to develop fresh, new drama for this region specifically, combining the internationally renowned talent and creativity here in the European television industry with Fox’s expertise in quality TV production.”
