Eccho Rights is set to present the new Channel 5 drama Desperate Measures to international buyers for presales at the Series Mania Forum.

Produced by Clapperboard in association with Eccho Rights, the series centers on diligent bank clerk Rowan and her teenage son, who is coerced into a botched drug deal, forcing his mother to recoup his losses by committing a heist at her bank. Amanda Abbington (Mr. Selfridge, Sherlock) stars as Rowan.

Desperate Measures is currently in production, with transmission slated for later this year. Mike Benson and Julie Ryan are executive producers for Clapperboard, with Adam Barth and Nicole Söderland executive producing for Eccho Rights. Anthony Philipson (Our Girl) is the director.

“This is a hugely exciting project, a dramatic thriller but with a deeply relatable human story at its heart—a normal woman doing whatever it takes to protect her beloved son,” said Adam Barth, head of development, acquisition and co-production at Eccho Rights. “We are hugely impressed with what we’ve seen from the first weeks of shooting, and we’ve already got a number of international clients looking at presale deals ahead of meetings in Lille next week.”
