Dynamic Television has inked a raft of global sales for the first season of The Sommerdahl Murders, a Scandinavian crime series based on Anna Grue’s best-selling book franchise.

The series was recently picked up by Mediawan (France), NPO (Netherlands), OTE (Greece) and Acorn TV (U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America). It was previously acquired by TV4 in Sweden and TV 2 in Norway.

The Sommerdahl Murders is a co-production between Dynamic Television, NDF, Sequoia Global Alliance, ZDF and Danish broadcaster TV 2. TV 2 has picked up the series for a second season that is slated to premiere in the spring of 2021.

Set in the picturesque Danish town of Helsingør, The Sommerdahl Murders revolves around an intriguing, perfidious murder investigation solved by Dan Sommerdahl (Peter Mygind) and his best friend Detective Superintendent Fleming Torp (André Babikian) in each episode. The series is created by Lolita Bellstar (Lulu & Leon, The Legacy), who serves as head writer alongside Lars K. Andersen (The Killing, Countdown Copenhagen).

Daniel March, Dynamic Television’s managing partner, said: “It’s exciting to see the ambition of The Sommerdahl Murders resonate with audiences as we hoped. It’s a tribute to our talented filmmakers and partners who delivered a modern and contemporary Nordic crime procedural that will now premiere in so many new territories.”
