Digital Circus Media, a new indie set up by Clark Bunting and David Wheeler, is working with Stephen Ellis to develop state-of-the-art transmedia IP for global entertainment consumers.

The first project from the collaboration is Blur, which is an immersive sci-fi TV series and multiplatform video game, in simultaneous production. It is based on a fully developed novel, original scripts and game design by Wheeler. The stories follow a flawed human-trafficking detective who is dangerously obsessed with an elusive witness in a dark, futuristic wonderland.

Bunting is the former president and general manager of Discovery, while Wheeler is a former senior creative director for EA. Ellis, meanwhile, is a veteran Canadian producer/distributor. He previously headed up Ellis Entertainment.

Bunting commented of the new initiative, “It’s an exciting time to be creating content outside the traditional box, and Blur fits the bill of our story-centric approach to convergent media.”

“The time is right for story-telling that co-exists in the multi-screen environment across both the television and game worlds,” said Wheeler.

“It’s a privilege to join the dream team of Clark and David, and harness what Canada brings to the table in producing for both the TV and digital gaming platforms,” said Ellis.
