Eccho Rights has licensed the Channel 5 drama Compulsion to Paramount+ to debut as an original series in Australia, Latin America and the Nordics.

Produced by LA Productions, the thriller follows a paramedic on the verge of losing everything after using gambling to cope with her PTSD. Leanne Best (Cold Feet, Young Wallander) stars in the lead role.

The cast also includes Anna Chancellor (The Watch, The Hour, Four Weddings and a Funeral) and Hayley Mills (Pollyanna, Pitching In). The series is written by Sarah Deane (Moving On, Clink), directed by Noreen Kershaw (Call the Midwife) and produced by Donna Molloy for LA Productions. Executive producers are Colin McKeown for LA Productions, Sebastian Cardwell for Channel 5 and Adam Barth and Nicola Söderlund for Eccho Rights.

Compulsion is a gripping thriller but with a human story at its core, and though Jenny finds herself in an extraordinary situation, international audiences will easily relate to her predicament of just wanting the best for her family,” said Lucy Roberts, director of sales for Western Europe at Eccho Rights.
