DUBLIN: The RTÉ 2-commissioned comedic drama Can’t Cope Won’t Cope, from Deadpan Pictures, has started shooting in Dublin.

The series stars Seana Kerslake (Dollhouse) and Nika McGuigan (Traders) as the leads, alongside Amy Huberman (Threesome), Norma Sheahan (Moone Boy) and Eileen Walsh (Catastrophe). The six-part half-hour series is written by Stefanie Preissner (Solpadeine is My Boyfriend), produced by Ailish McElmeel (Burning Wishes) and directed by Cathy Brady (Glue). It is set to air on RTÉ 2 in Ireland this fall.

McElmeel said, “It’s so exciting to bring an achingly truthful and funny series to the screen. Stefanie’s writing truly is the ‘voice of her generation’ and with the multi-award-winning Cathy Brady at the helm we really are in new territory in terms of the Dublin we’re exploring and the young women we’re representing—depicting post Celtic tiger cubs very much at odds with the world they find themselves in.”
