CNC Launching Going European Training Program

The Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC) is set to launch Going European, a training program focused on co-writing international series.

Funded by the MEDIA program of the European Commission for three years, the program will be run in partnership with Series Mania (France), Conecta Fiction & Entertainment (Spain) and Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Each year, five pairs of authors will take part.

The ten resident authors will take part in three training sessions of one week each during each of the partner events. They will meet with renowned professionals and take part in workshops and masterclasses on the issues involved in the conception, sale and distribution of an international series.

The five pairs will be chosen on an annual basis. Three will be selected by the CNC from among the winners of the co-writing grant for international co-productions (COCO-I), and the other two will be chosen by Conecta Fiction & Entertainment and Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days.

CNC and its partners will use participants’ feedback and their work during the program to establish and disseminate a repertoire of best practices for the co-writing and international co-production of series.
