Channel 5 Orders Home and Away Christmas Specials

Channel 5 in the U.K. has commissioned six Christmas specials of the Australian soap drama Home and Away for its VOD service My5.

Produced by Seven Network, Home and Away: Christmas in Summer Bay features 6×30-minute specials that are being released on a weekly basis throughout the month of December on My5. Each episode will take viewers behind the scenes of the soap, as the cast spend time with their on-screen families during the holidays.

Oli Thomas, VP and digital lead for Channel 5, said: “Home and Away is a favorite with our viewers, so we’re delighted to have commissioned these ‘behind-the-scenes’ specials for My5 to keep fans engaged with the show whilst it takes its annual on-air break.”
