Eccho Rights has brought the Swedish SVOD platform C More on board to partner with Icelandic producer Glassriver and broadcaster Stod 2 on the relationship drama As Long as We Live.

The drama series is created by and will star Aníta Briem (The Tudors, The Minister, Journey to the Center of the Earth). It is inspired by her own personal story.

Swedish actor Martin Wallström (Mr. Robot) will star opposite.

Katrín Björgvinsdóttir (Trapped) directs all six episodes.

The series is now greenlit to go into production this summer.

Hordur Runarsson, producer and co-owner of Glassriver, said: “As Long as We Live wraps its arms around you and doesn’t let go. Aníta Briem’s immaculate and sensual writing won’t leave anyone untouched. With Aníta Briem’s and Martin Wallström’s incredible on-screen capabilities in the talented hands of director Katrín Björgvinsdottir—you are in for a treat. For this incredible talent ensemble, Glassriver needed the perfect distribution partner that shared our vision, which we found in the progressive and attentive Eccho Rights. It is wonderful to see C More participating on this journey that already includes the fantastic commissioner, Stod 2 Iceland.”

Piodor Gustafsson, Nordic drama director for C More and TV4 Media, added: “We are really happy to partner on this great project. It’s one of the very best series we’ve been presented the last couple of years. The scripts are outstanding, and the creative team has a great vision. Adding Martin Wallström to the mix just made it totally irresistible.”

Thora Clausen, head of programming and acquisitions at Stod 2, said: “Stod 2 is extremely proud to be the commissioning broadcaster in Iceland for As Long as We Live and have been on board since being initially pitched the idea in 2021. We were thrilled to read the engaging script written by the talented Aníta Briem and know this type of programming will definitely appeal to our viewers. With the addition of director Katrín Björgvinsdottir and on-screen talent Martin Wallström, we have no doubts about the success of this project.”

Adam Barth, director of co-productions, acquisitions and development at Eccho Rights, added: “As Long as We Live embodies everything we look for in an international project. At its core, we have a universally relatable relationship drama, beautifully told by Aníta, coupled with an outstanding cast and, of course, a production company of great pedigree in Glassriver. We pride ourselves on securing financing with great commissioners who understand the needs of international audiences, so C More is a natural partner alongside Stod 2. This international cooperation also creates organic synergies that make the series more widely appealing; for example, the series will be shot in a combination of English and Icelandic language.”
