LONDON: Nicola Larder, co-creator of the ITV crime drama Marcella, has been named executive producer of development at U.K. production company Buccaneer Media.

In her new role, Larder will work under Tony Wood, the CEO of Buccaneer Media. She will collaborate with Andrea Dewsbury, the company’s other executive producer of development, on developing a slate of scripted series with international renowned writers.

In addition to Marcella, she previously collaborated with Buccaneer on Desi Rascals, an unscripted show for Sky Living. Larder has also served as development executive at Sky, where she oversaw the commissions of Dracula and The Tunnel.

Wood remarked: “Nicola has a fantastic track record in developing hit drama series. Following our work together on Marcella, it’s great to be welcoming Nicola to the Buccaneer team. We have some exciting new scripted projects in development and I’m looking forward to collaborating with Nicola to bring these to audiences around the world.”

Larder added: “I love the pioneering spirit of Tony and Buccaneer. Marcella has been a thrill from start to finish. I can’t wait to get more series off the ground with avant garde writers and dazzling talent attached.”
