ZDF Studios’ Boundless, telling the story of Ferdinand Magellan’s circumnavigation of the planet, has been sold to various carriers for broadcast in MENA.

MBC’s VOD platform Shahid acquired the series for MENA territories, while Dubai Media secured the rights to the six-parter for its free-TV channels Dubai TV and Dubai One.

Previously, Boundless was sold to MTVA (Hungary), Yle (Finland), LRT (Lithuania), GSN Global Series Network (Australia and New Zealand), VIVA (Philippines), ERR (Estonia), Mediasquad (Balcans) and Eleven Entertainment (South Korea), while Anuvu and Spafax made the series available in-flight.

Yuliya Fischer, Director Drama for ZDF Studios, said: “I am delighted to see Boundless reaching audiences across so many different territories. It is one of the biggest and most ambitious dramas that we ever had the pleasure of being involved with. With its top class talent, both on- and off-screen, and high production value, this premium ‘must-watch’ series will continue to captivate audiences around the world.”
