BBC & ZDF in New Scripted Partnership

The BBC and ZDF have entered into a new partnership that will support producers to create ambitious scripted content for both pubcasters, with a focus on high-end drama.

The PSBs have already commissioned two shows together: Honey, a new flirty spy thriller from Sid Gentle Films, and the second season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, the YA mystery thriller co-produced with Netflix and made by Moonage Pictures.

The collaboration aims to maximize the strengths of two of Europe’s leading public service broadcasters, combining ZDF’s pan-European co-production know-how with the BBC’s track record of scripted titles. It will provide production companies with the opportunity to easily work with two major European broadcasters, creatively aligning from the outset.
