Presales have been inked by all3media international for the new BBC drama Dark Money, which is the latest title from National Treasure producer The Forge.

Globo TV’s Globoplay streaming service in Brazil and the VOD platform U-NEXT in Japan have acquired Dark Money at the presale stage, alongside ABC in Australia and Sky in New Zealand. A deal has also been clinched with RMC Story for France, Switzerland and French-speaking Africa.

Broadcasters on board in Europe include ETB (Basque region in Spain), VRT (Flemish-speaking Belgium), ITI Neovision Ale Kino+ (Poland) and Siminn (Iceland). RLJ Entertainment signed up for home entertainment rights for Australia and New Zealand.

Set to premiere on BBC One in July, Dark Money is penned by BAFTA-nominated Levi David Addai. The four-parter stars Babou Ceesay (National Treasure), Jill Halfpenny (Three Girls, Liar) and Max Fincham (The Alienist). Dark Money follows an ordinary family whose young son is riding a wave of success after his role in a Hollywood blockbuster, when it becomes apparent he’s suffered abuse on set by a renowned producer. His parents accept a substantial pay-off to keep silent, but the hurt and betrayal cannot be erased, and the family begins to crack.
