Banijay Studios Italy Preps Un Professore

Banijay Studios Italy has commenced filming on the new premium scripted series Un Professore, starring Alessandro Gassmann.

Un Professore centers on Dante (Gassmann), a teacher who employs philosophical thinking to help his students deal with life’s problems. With the support of his mother, Dante tries to mend his relationship with his son—and student—Simone. Meanwhile, ladies’ man Dante might find true love with the mother of one of his other students.

Produced by Massimo Del Frate, Un Professore is directed by Alessandro D’Alatri from a screenplay penned by Sandro Petraglia alongside Fidel Signorile, Valentina Gaddi and Sebastiano Melloni. Un Professore is based on the TV3 Catalunya format Merlí. The new series is set for Rai1.
