Video Interview: Bad Monkey’s Natalie Martinez & Ronald Peet

Apple TV+’s new drama Bad Monkey bows on the service on August 14, with a fresh episode dropping each Wednesday through October 9. Based on the New York Times best-selling novel of the same name by Carl Hiaasen (HootFlushStrip Tease), the series stars Vince Vaughn as former detective Andrew Yancy, who was booted from the Miami Police Department and forced to work as a health inspector. When a human arm is fished up by tourists, he can’t help but get involved, with the hope of earning his original job back.

The case ties together Yancy, a Miami coroner, the widow of the dead wealthy man whose arm was found and a Bahamian with a monkey companion whose home is demolished for a resort development. Natalie Martinez stars alongside Vaughn as coroner Dr. Rosa Campesino, and Ronald Peet plays Bahamian Neville Stafford.

In this interview, Martinez and Peet discuss what drew them to their characters, working with showrunner and writer Bill Lawrence (Ted LassoScrubs) and the deeper themes of the series.
