Apple TV+ Lands The Savant with Jessica Chastain

Apple TV+ has landed the eight-episode limited series The Savant, with Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye, The Good Nurse) set to executive produce through Freckle Films and star in the lead role.

Inspired by a true story published by Cosmopolitan, the series is being written and showrun by Melissa James Gibson (Anatomy of a Scandal, House of Cards) and directed by Matthew Heineman (A Private War, Retrograde). Fifth Season and Anonymous Content are producing.

The storyline and character details will be revealed at a later date.

Executive producers are Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Freckle Films; Jessica Giles, editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan; Gibson; and Heineman. Brian Madden, senior VP of development for Hearst Magazines will produce, while Andrea Stanley, writer of the original Cosmopolitan feature, will consult.
