Amuz & GoQuest Harness Partner Potential

This summer, Amuz Distribution and GoQuest Media struck up a deal to distribute their titles in various territories. The agreement spans the Amuz Distribution catalog in Asia, Oceania, MENA and non-French-speaking African territories, while GoQuest titles will be represented in Canada and the U.S.

“Amuz Distribution has been evolving and expanding rapidly since our rebrand in May 2023,” says Alex Avon, VP of international at Amuz. “That said, we maintain a smaller team, and thus, we have been seeking international partnerships to further our mission of keeping the world feeling good with premium programming. GoQuest Media has a stellar reputation for program distribution in Asia and other territories, and our company cultures line up quite well. We trust them to take good care of our award-winning programming and to find the right platform for these programs in their territories.”

“We had been in touch with Amuz for some time and had always been impressed by their engaging content,” added Jimmy George, VP of sales and acquisitions at GoQuest. “We discussed the opportunity to collaborate to capitalize on our respective strengths. Our catalog strategies aligned well, and both of us excel in marketing specific genres to our respective client bases, making collaboration a natural next step.”

As for their synergies, Avon says that “Amuz Distribution and GoQuest Media’s license and acquisition teams are skillful in identifying great programming that fits our respective missions of compelling and heartwarming programs.”

“Both teams specialize in selling catalogs featuring compelling human stories,” George adds. “GoQuest has successfully curated and sold titles with strong emotional appeal from emerging markets to global platforms, demonstrating that impactful storytelling transcends borders. Amuz shares our commitment to quality narratives, and we eagerly anticipate introducing their titles to our clients and collaborating with their dynamic team.”

GoQuest Media will take most of Amuz Distribution’s catalog for select territories, including the multi-award-winning About Antoine, a heartwarming story of a family living with a poly-handicapped child, and the redemptive series Larry, about a former police detective charged with corruption who is now trying to restart his life at an older age. Also in the mix are Writer’s BlockCounter OfferSnowball EffectAnyway… and others.

Amuz, meanwhile, will be showcasing GoQuest titles such as the dramedy Divorce in Peace. Several of the titles that Amuz will now represent have already secured licenses with global platforms such as Disney+ Hotstar, Globo and SBS, with others optioned for remakes.

“All our programs deal with universal themes, which we are confident global audiences can relate to,” Avon says. “From the GoQuest side, they offer great production values with new twists.”

George adds, “When we curate titles for our catalog, our aim is always to maximize licensing opportunities. Collaborating with partners like Amuz generates heightened interest and robust support for these titles, particularly in markets where they possess expertise.”

Avon says the Amuz team anticipates “a long-term partnership with GoQuest Media and is open to working on a variety of new projects as we move into the future.”

And likewise, at GoQuest, George says: “We foresee expanding our collaboration by adding more titles as they gain traction within Amuz’s extensive distribution networks.”
