NEW YORK: A+E Networks has lined up broadcasters in more than 50 territories for the new military action drama SIX, which will debut on HISTORY in the U.S. in 2017.

Among the broadcasters on board for the eight-part series are HBO Europe (Central and Eastern Europe), HBO Nordics, HBO Spain, iflix (Southeast Asia), History Southeast Asia, History Latin America and History Canada. Inspired by the real missions of Navy SEAL Team Six, the series is written by Academy Award nominee William Broyles (Cast AwayApollo 13Jarhead) and David Broyles, a military special operations veteran.

SIX is an A+E Studios production in association with The Weinstein Company. A+E Networks will be promoting the title at MIPCOM next week.

“We are proud to offer a series that portrays the commitment, bravery and sacrifice of the special forces’ unsung heroes,” said Joel Denton, the managing director of international content sales and partnerships at A+E Networks. “It is gratifying to have enlisted these major broadcasters early and we look forward to continuing our sales momentum with significant sales coming out of MIPCOM.”
