Additional King & Conqueror Casting Unveiled

Emily Beecham (1899, Little Joe) and Clémence Poésy (In Bruges, The Tunnel) have joined the cast of King & Conqueror, alongside previously revealed stars James Norton and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

The new period drama tells the story of a clash that defined the future of a country and a continent for a thousand years, the roots of which stretch back decades and extend out through a pair of interconnected family dynasties who struggled for power.

Beecham will play Edith Swan-neck, the wife of Harold Godwinson (Norton), while Poésy is Matilda, the wife of William of Normandy (Coster-Waldau).

The eight-episode series is created, written and executive produced by Michael Robert Johnson, with the premiere directed by Baltasar Kormákur.

The BBC has acquired broadcasting rights for the series on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the U.K. The series will be distributed outside of this market by Paramount Global Content Distribution. King & Conqueror expands the slate of international co-productions from CBS Studios.
