Acorn TV & ZDF Renew The Chelsea Detective

AMC Networks’ streamer Acorn TV and ZDF have ordered a third season of the U.K. mystery drama series The Chelsea Detective.

The Chelsea Detective is produced by Acorn Media Enterprises, ZDF and the BBC Studios-invested indie Expectation. Filming is currently underway, with Adrian Scarborough (Killing Eve) and Vanessa Emme (Dublin Murders) reprising their roles.

Acorn TV serves as the exclusive home for the series in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand and more. BBC Studios distributes the series internationally.

Scarborough said, “I’m delighted to be back as DI Arnold for another series of The Chelsea Detective. It’s a joy to return to the team—and to my houseboat!”

Emme added, “I adore playing Layla and building on her professional partnership with Max. I’m delighted to be back and resuming my role with the team to tackle the compelling investigations ahead in season three.”

Peter Fincham, creator and executive producer, commented, “Chelsea is an endlessly fascinating place, and season three includes some of the most surprising stories we’ve told and introduces some great guest characters. We’re delighted to be back!”

Ella Kelly, executive producer, said, “It’s great to be back in Chelsea with such a passionate, fun and creative team, and I am thrilled director Jennie Darnell is joining us this series.”
