Acorn TV has lined up a roster of exclusive U.S. premieres for its summer slate, which includes the launch of the British medical drama The Good Karma Hospital.

Amrita Acharia (Game of Thrones) stars in The Good Karma Hospital as junior doctor Ruby Walker, who heads to India looking for a job and a distraction from her heartbreak. She finds work, and maybe even love, at an under-resourced and over-worked cottage hospital. The show will launch as a U.S. exclusive on August 21.

Also coming to Acorn TV this summer are Loch Ness, which will debut on the service as an original series coinciding with its U.K. premiere; season three of the legal drama Janet King and season 19 of Midsomer Murders. Vera will premiere in its seventh season on August 7.

Mark Stevens, the president of Acorn Brands at RLJ Entertainment, said, “While the broadcast and cable networks slow down during the summer, Acorn TV continues to feature exclusive U.S. premieres every month for our subscribers. We’re thrilled to exclusively add new episodes of some of the most popular British, Canadian and Australian series throughout the summer, as well as introduce audiences to the quirky staff at The Good Karma Hospital, a hit British medical drama set in the hustle and bustle of a vibrant town in India.”
