ABC Commercial has inked an agreement with Acorn TV for more than 160 hours of programming from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for its offering in Australia and New Zealand.

The deal includes Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, starring Essie Davis (The Babadook, Game of Thrones); the acclaimed ABC drama Jack Irish, starring Guy Pearce (Memento, LA Confidential); and the comedy hit A Moody Christmas and The Moody’s. The pact also covers the British comedy drama Kingdom, starring Stephen Fry (Gosford Park, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy), the black comedy Shameless and the made-for-TV movie Churchill’s Secret.

“ABC Commercial has been a partner of Acorn TV from their launch in 2018,” said Jessica Ellis, head of content sales and distribution at ABC Commercial. “ABC content resonates with Acorn’s core audience, so we are extremely happy to build on our partnership and see more of the ABC’s world-class list of content already successfully streaming on the Acorn TV platform.”

“After our success in introducing several major Australian series to our audiences in North America, Acorn TV is thrilled to work with ABC Commercial to add more first-rate Australian and British content to our subscribers in Australia and New Zealand,” said Don Klees, senior VP of Acorn programming for RLJ Entertainment.
