MKCS Global in Myanmar has picked up 250 hours of content from ABS-CBN, while Mexico’s Cinelatino licensed several Filipino movies.

MKCS Global and ABS-CBN inked a deal for four titles, including And I Love You So and Born for You. Also part of the package are Brothers season two and La Luna Sangre. These Filipino dramas are set to air on Myanmar’s free-to-air channels MWD and MRTV 4.

Cinelatino, a Spanish-language movie channel based in Mexico, went for several blockbusters such as Unexpectedly Yours, Four Sisters and a Wedding and She’s Dating a Gangster. The broadcaster also acquired Bride for Rent, Always Be My Maybe and Extra Service. Through Cinelatino, these Star Cinema-produced movies will be available throughout Latin America, as well as the U.S. and Canada, via cable, satellite and IPTV services.

Cesar Diaz, head of 7A Media, ABS-CBN’s exclusive distributor for movies in Latin America, said: “This deal is highly significant for ABS-CBN as it keeps the momentum of penetrating the Latin American market since the acquisition of Bridges of Love in Peru. ABS-CBN content has been receiving excellent reception since then so it is only right to consistently provide high-quality Filipino content to this market.”

Macie Imperial, ABS-CBN’s VP for international sales distribution and acquisition, commented: “We are certainly proud of this win early on this year and our goal will always be to continuously provide high-caliber programs and movies with cast and storylines that appeal to various cultures. We are certain that this will also boost our continuing efforts to introduce new talents to the global stage.”
