The Turkish drama A Mother’s Struggle (Benim Adım Melek), distributed by MISTCO, has been licensed to Ecuador’s Ecuavisa, where it will debut on January 25.

In the series, Melek and Halil’s families decide they will get married, but on their engagement day, Melek elopes with Alpay and leaves for Germany. The families never mention her name again, but Melek is eventually forced to return home and sacrifice everything for her children.

The lead roles are played by Nehir Erdogan, Kutsi and Kaan Cakir.

Melek is one of the most powerful women’s stories in our library and was loved by audiences, especially in Latin America,” said MISTCO Managing Director Aysegul Tuzun. “The story is set in one of Turkey’s most beautiful cities, Gaziantep, and it’s a visual feast with its production quality and acting. In addition, this series brought many actors to Turkish television. Hear Me and its lead [actor] Rabia Soyturk and One More Chance lead [actor] Ulvi Kahyaoglu are in the role of siblings.”
