M6 Adapting Michel Bussi’s After the Crash

M6 is working on a TV adaptation of Michel Bussi’s bestseller After the Crash (Un avion sans elle).

The narrative of the 4×1-hour miniseries stays close to the story in the book, which is about a plane crash in the early 1980s in the French Jura and its long-term effects. In the book, a newborn is the only survivor of the plane crash near the Swiss border. The passenger list, however, includes a second baby. Nobody is able to verify which child survived, and the grandparents set out on a distressing fight for custody.

Bussi’s book has sold more than 1 million copies. The author commented: “I am fascinated with the idea that Un avion sans elle is being brought to life thanks to M6.”
