Alex Kalymnios to Direct Starz’s The White Princess

BEVERLY HILLS: Alex Kalymnios (Scott and Bailey, Becoming Human) has signed on for The White Princess, the follow-up to the Starz original miniseries The White Queen.

Kalymnios joins to direct episodes four, five and six of The White Princess, which is being produced by Company Pictures and Playground. In casting news, Amy Manson (Once Upon a Time, Being Human) has come on board the production in the role of Lady Catherine Gordon, cousin to King James IV of Scotland. Catherine is the politically motivated love interest of “The Boy,” to be played by Patrick Gibson (The OA, The Passing Bells). Andrew Whipp (Outlander, Death in Paradise) rounds out the cast as Richard Pole, supporter and former soldier of Henry VII.

The White Princess is helmed by showrunner Emma Frost (The White Queen, The Man in the High Castle, Shameless), also on board as executive producer, alongside producer and director Jamie Payne (Legends, Quantico). Lachlan MacKinnon (Burton and Taylor) is producer for the series, with Philippa Gregory on board as executive producer on this adaptation of her novel.
