Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan Novels to Get TV Treatment

ROME: Wildside and Fandango Productions are working together to co-develop and co-produce the TV adaptation of Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan quartet of novels.

The collection portrays the lives and friendship of Elena and Lila from childhood to motherhood, set against the social and political backdrop of 1950s Naples. The story will unfold over four eight-part series and be shot in Italy. Ferrante has signed on to be involved throughout the project.
