DramaFever Targets Binge-Viewers with New DF Minis

NEW YORK: The online video network DramaFever is rolling out a set of new short-form DF Minis, with all episodes of each series being released at once to maximize binge-viewing potential.

Each episode in the DF Minis series is around ten-minutes long. Typically, DramaFever’s traditional-length shows debut one new episode per week, simulcast with their overseas premieres. This new slate of DF Minis will see all episodes premiere simultaneously for marathon viewing.

Offerings include Never Die, in which Ji Eun Sung plays a young man in the present day who falls for Nam Ji-Hyun from K-pop group 4minute, who portrays a 200-year-old immortal that eternally looks like a beautiful 20-year-old. 9 Seconds: Eternal Time follows as two people meet for the first time at a photo studio and discover a camera that has the ability to stop time. Snow Lotus Flower is a fantasy/romance drama in which two people in the present meet each other in their dreams as lovers from 1,000 years ago. Love Detective Sherlock centers on a psychologist of love (Nam Bo Ra) who runs the "Healing Cafe" where she helps various clients with their love problems.

“While our strategy with the more traditional-length long-form programming is to release one episode per week, simulcast when possible with our overseas television partners, and encouraging audience retention, our research has found that DF Minis are ideal to binge,” said DramaFever's director of licensing, Tim Lee. “Korean dramas are the perfect guilt-free content to snack on this holiday season—whether during a lunch break, waiting to check-out holiday groceries, or standing in line before a door-busting sale.”
