Content Television Secures Scripted Sales Across Asia

LONDON: Content Media Corporation's Content Television has licensed several dramas, including Dead Rising: Watchtower, to broadcasters throughout Asia.

FOX International Channels Asia Pacific inked a pan-Asian deal for Dead Rising: Watchtower, which is based on the hit video-game franchise, for broadcast across the region. The 113-minute production is set during a zombie outbreak. It stars Jesse Metcalfe (Dallas), Dennis Haysbert (24), Meghan Ory (Intelligence) and Virginia Madsen (Sideways).

The live-action drama Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, also inspired by a video game, is headed to GMA Network in the Philippines. GMA additionally went for The Ark, which re-tells the biblical story of Noah and the Great Flood. Also in the Philippines, Solar Entertainment snapped up a package of drama titles, including Cyberbully, which stars Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams as a troubled teen dealing with a dangerous cyber stalker.

Over in China, CCTV took a number of TV movies in an agreement brokered by Hong Kong Happiness, including He Who Dares: Downing Street Siege, Earthbound, Pete's Christmas and Driving Lessons.

Diana Zakis, the VP of sales for Latin America and Asia at Content Television, remarked: "We're delighted to announce these new deals at Asia Television Forum—demand for international scripted drama content continues to be on the rise throughout Asia, and we're seeing a lot of interest for our new programming as well as our library feature films and series. With their well-established fan base, our 'game-to-screen' properties always resonate particularly well in the region, and we're expecting our new feature Halo: The Fall of Reach to be very popular when it makes its debut in Singapore."
