Anna Chlumsky Joins Leslie Bibb in Top of the Rock

Truenoth, Mystery Productions and Vertu’s Cold War crime series Top of the Rock has bolstered its cast with the addition of Anna Chlumsky alongside Leslie Bibb.

Set to shoot in Iceland later this year, the series is created and directed by Truenorth’s Davíð Óskar Ólafsson. The six-part series, set in 1983, takes place amid escalating Cold War paranoia and follows Captain Diane Goodman, a U.S. Military Police investigator, and MP Sarah Ellis, both stationed at the NATO base in Keflavik, when an American soldier is found dead under suspicious circumstances outside the base.

Top of the Rock was created by Ólafsson and Jón Atli Jónasson and co-created by Ragnar Jónsson. The series was produced by Kristinn Thordarson, Ólafsson and Ágúst Freyr Ingason, with Truenorth’s CEO and founder Leifur B. Dagfinnsson serving as executive producer.

“Early on, we knew the role of Sarah Ellis would need to be someone with a formidable screen presence,” said Ólafsson. “Anna Chlumsky’s ability to switch between genres is like no other, and she absolutely embodies every character she’s played across her phenomenal career. We’re beyond ecstatic to round out the leads in Top of the Rock with two of the most brilliant actors.”
