CBS Orders Second Seasons for Two New Broadcast Series

CBS has ordered second seasons of Boston Blue and Sheriff Country.

“Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits, with audiences quickly embracing Boston Blue and Sheriff Country across broadcast and streaming,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “These early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera that make these series truly stand out.”

Boston Blue averaged 8 million viewers and Sheriff Country averaged 7.6 million viewers in Nielsen live plus 7-day multiplatform ratings.

Boston Blue follows former NYPD Detective Danny Reagan as he joins the Boston Police Department and partners with Detective Lena Silver.

The series stars Donnie Wahlberg, Sonequa Martin-Green, Gloria Reuben, Maggie Lawson, Marcus Scribner, Mika Amonsen and Ernie Hudson.

Executive producers are Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis, Wahlberg, Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed for Jerry Bruckheimer Television.

Set in small-town Edgewater, California, Sheriff Country follows Sheriff Mickey Fox as she investigates criminal activity while navigating complex family dynamics.

Sheriff County stars Morena Baccarin, Matt Lauria, W. Earl Brown, Christopher Gorham and Michele Weaver.

Executive producers of the series are Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Matt Lopez, Bruckheimer and Reed.

Both series are produced by CBS Studios.
