Tomorrow Studios Acquires Don’t Let the Devil Ride for Adaptation

Tomorrow Studios has acquired Ace Atkins’ Don’t Let the Devil Ride to be adapted for television by writer and producer Cheo Hodari Coker.

“Ace Atkins is a singular voice, and we flew through this novel for the wild ride it is; nabbing an utterly dynamic and meticulous creator like Cheo to adapt it for a series is the perfect pairing,” said Tomorrow Studios’ CEO and partner Marty Adelstein, president and partner Becky Clements and executive VP Alissa Bachner. “We can’t wait to introduce audiences to Porter Hayes in a story that takes us from the streets of Memphis all around the world.”

The adaptation will be developed by Tomorrow Studios. Adelstein, Clements and Bachner will executive produce the series through Tomorrow Studios, along with Atkins and Coker.

The book centers on Addison McKellar, who thought she knew the man she married—charming, successful Dean McKellar—until he vanished. Fearing the worst, she hires private investigator Porter Hayes, whose discoveries turn her perfect world upside down.
