M. Night Shyamalan, Brad Falchuk Board Magic 8 Ball Series

M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Split, Signs) and Brad Falchuk (Glee, American Horror Story, Pose) have joined Mattel Studios’ Magic 8 Ball live-action scripted series as co-creators and co-showrunners.

Falchuk, who is writing the series, and Shyamalan, who is directing, will reimagine the classic Magic 8 Ball as the centerpiece of a character-driven supernatural drama blending psychological intensity and cultural intrigue.

Magic 8 Ball has been around for 75 years, and 1 million units are sold annually. Users can ask the ball a question, shake it and receive one of 20 answers. The live-action series is part of Mattel’s strategy to expand its portfolio of brands into entertainment.
