IZZY Unveils Upcoming Drama Slate

IZZY has unveiled its upcoming lineup of dramas featuring some of Israel’s top actors, including the Shtisel prequel Kugel.

Kugel will stream exclusively in 12 different languages on the streamer beginning February 28. IZZY subscribers will be able to exclusively watch the first episode live several days ahead of time on February 25 at 5:30 p.m. EST.

Kugel is written by Shtisel co-creator Yehonatan Indursky and tells the story of Libi’s life with her father, years before she meets Akiva.

IZZY will also be launching dramas featuring Israeli stars Sasson Gabai, Lior Ashkenazi, Shira Haas and others. This includes The Echo of Your Voice, Aviram Katz, The Exchange Principal and Mama’s Angel.

The Echo of Your Voice explores complex human relationships amid societal upheaval. Directed by Hanan Savyon and Guy Amir (The New Black), it stars Itamar Rotschild, Orr Amrami-Brockman and Shaul Luria.

Aviram Katz is a biographical drama that tells the story of the titular Israeli entrepreneur. Sasson Gabay (Shtisel, Kugel) stars in the lead role. Shani Cohen and Yaara Pelzig also star in the Erez Tadmor-directed series.

The Exchange Principal, another title directed by Savyon and Amir, is centered on a hostage crisis and explores themes of negotiation, trust and survival. Lior Ashkenazi plays the lead alongside Shira Haas.

Mama’s Angel, meanwhile, follows the transformative journey of motherhood, delving into the power of love, personal growth and resilience in the face of life’s challenges. Tadmor directs the drama, which features Yaara Pelzig and Aharon Ivgy.

In addition to these dramas, IZZY will also be launching the docuseries Fighters, following the journey of Israeli soldiers wounded in the Israeli-Hamas conflict, on March 5. It is produced by Baron Productions and directed by Gal Rai (The Interns, Bring Them Home).

“At IZZY, we are incredibly excited about the launch of Kugel coming later this month, and we believe that what’s coming next will truly continue to captivate our global audience, as well,” said Nati Dinnar, co-founder and CEO of IZZY. “The documentary series Fighters, produced by Keshet and the Israeli Entertainment Fund (IEF), offers a raw, unique perspective on the ongoing war in Gaza that will leave viewers in awe. Along with this powerful documentary, the diverse range of star-studded Israeli dramas that we’re bringing to IZZY in March will showcase the depth and richness of storytelling coming from Israel. This is the heart of IZZY—bringing bold, thought-provoking content to viewers worldwide that challenges, entertains and inspires. We can’t wait for our audience to experience it.”
