All3Media International has inked agreements in key territories for Critical Incident, including in the U.S. with Hulu.

Critical Incident, a psychological crime thriller from Matchbox Pictures, premiered on Stan in Australia in August and was produced in association with All3Media International. The series is now set to debut in the U.S., with Hulu picking up streaming rights to the six-part drama. The series was also acquired by New Zealand on TVNZ.

Delving into the complex world of policing, the contemporary crime drama is inspired by creator Sarah Bassiuoni’s real-life experiences working as a lawyer in Western Sydney’s juvenile justice system. Akshay Khanna (Polite Society, The Doll Factory) leads the cast. Neil Sharma (Heartbreak High) and Daniel Nettheim (The Tourist, Line of Duty) direct.

Jennifer Askin, senior VP for North America at All3Media International, commented, “In Critical Incident, Matchbox Pictures and creator Sarah Bassiuoni have delivered an authentic, nuanced portrayal of the realities of policing and criminality in the suburbs of a major city. While Zil and Dalia’s story unfolds in the distinctive setting of Western Sydney, it depicts the complexities and consequences of policing and being policed that are highly relevant around the world. Brought to the screen by an acclaimed creative team, and with outstanding performances from a cast of new and established talent, this is a powerful and provocative drama that will enthrall audiences, and we’re very pleased to start its international journey.”
